We recently had a fun packed weekend in Cumbria, with lots of local food and drink, as well as easy scenic walks around Keswick and Ennerdale.

We stayed at the beautiful Sunnyside Guest House in Keswick where the hosts were so welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and homely. The guesthouse also has a lounge with a well-stocked honesty bar.

After checking in, we were treated to a Sunnyside Deluxe Cheeseboard which included local Cumbrian cheeses and Cumbria air dried ham.

On the evening, we headed into Cockermouth to sample some authentic Turkish food at Aspava Restaurant. The owners are from Gaziantep in Southeast Turkey. We enjoyed a selection of dishes and some fantastic baklava.

After a lovely night's sleep, we had a great breakfast at Sunnyside Guest House, before heading out for a walk along to Friars Crag.

After checking out of our accommodation, we drove through to Ennerdale where we visited The Gather, a community owned and run cafe. We perused the shop before having some cake and cuppas.

We then took a walk around Ennerdale water to enjoy more of the beautiful Cumbrian scenery, before our final stop at Ennerdale Brewery for Sunday Lunch. This family run brewery serves up amazing Sunday lunches, as well as its own local craft beers.

We really enjoyed our visit to Cumbria, if you'd like to visit too then you can find out more information at Visit Lake District | The Official Guide to Cumbria
