We headed along, bursting with Sanddancer pride, to check out the new Colman's outpost in Fenwick, Newcastle. When I was kid, getting the metro to Newcastle and paying a visit to Fenwick was always a treat. now you can all go to Fenwick for a treat directly from South Shields.

It came to me last night, that if somebody asked me, "here, Gan For Bait, Like? Where is the bets fish and chips in Newcastle city centre?", up until now, I couldn't really answer that question. This really is the only place to go for fish and chips in the centre of the town.

If you don't fancy fish and chips, don't worry, there's also simply grilled fish; scampi; sausage and chips; steak and ale pie; halloumi. You can also get starters or mushy pea fritters; SPAM hash browns; king prawn tacos; and Caesar salad.

Price wise, Colman's could quite easily have added a few quid to the price since they're moving from South Shields to a Newcastle institution, but the prices are the same as in South Shields, very commendable for the quality you're getting.

Overall, a fantastic job on making this little corner of Fenwick their own. The walls are adorned with the amazing history of Colman's, as well as fantastic art from Lines Behind.

Get yourself involved, bookings are live via their socials and website.
